The Gretna Sofa is a beautiful example of the classic Duncan Phyfe style. Coming to the U.S. in 1784 from Scotland, Duncan Phyfe established himself as a talented cabinet and furniture maker in New York, pulling from Neoclassical and Regency styles and developing his own unique characteristics that are still imitated in reproductions today.

Featuring elegant full rolled arms with exposed wood trim, and unique wood carvings. Richly tufted back, seat, and arms provide a most comfortable seating experience. The entire sofa is appointed with stately hand-applied nail-head trim. To add a touch of elegance, the sofa sits atop exaggerated curved claw foot legs. In a true Duncan Phyfe style, the rolled arms are paralleled in these stunning rolled feet. A must have addition to any vintage home.
