Contessa Chaise

Write a Review

With a history dating back to ancient Egypt, the chaise (or chaise longue, meaning long chair) brings together Romance and comfort. In “modern” history, the chaise became popular in the grand houses of 19th century France, used for mid-day rest (therefore called Meridienne, or middle of the day). Traditionally the chaise is characterized by high a headrest and a lower foot rest, joined by a sloping piece; or an asymmetrical day bed.
Solid mahogany wood is finished in Warm Walnut tones with Silver highlights. Rich European fabrics in shades of golds, greens, and black. Comes with pillows shown.
