St. Francisville Parlor

The heavily carved medallion back is the most distinctive characteristic of the Victorian sofa. Craftsmen of the period demonstrated extraordinary skill in rendering flowers, fruit and leafage on the crests of the sofas, as well as on their arms and legs. These designs were often repeated in other pieces in a set which included chairs and occasional tables. The St. Francisville Parlor is an authentic reproduction of just such a set, complying with the high standards of traditional design and construction. Carved and upholstered in Italy, the sofa and chairs have solid beechwood frames with corner-block construction to ensure optimum strength. Crests and arms of the sofa and chairs are intricately carved with the traditional Victorian rose and leaf design. One modern improvement is the high density foam padding in the backs and seats, providing optimum comfort and longevity. Available in five finishes and many luxurious fabrics.
