This beauty is inspired by Victorian furniture of the 1840s to 1870s that used a shield design on the backs of sofas and chairs. The scroll arms are generous in size. The carvings are elaborate with through-the-wood piercings. The upholstery is expertly tailored with nailhead trim. Thick, high density foam on the backs and resilient loose cushions provide superb support and comfort. Carved in Italy from solid beechwood, given a painstaking finishing process, and then covered in the fabric of your choice, this piece is made to endure for generations. Shown in the mahogany finish, the chair also comes in dark fruitwood, lacatta and antique gold finishes.
